Exhaust leaks, how much do they effect performance?

Before the turbo, it will rob a considerable amount. Turbo will not spool as much. After the turbo, IMO no effect.

Dwight, the up pipes that feed the turbo have doughnut type gaskets that leak and that will rob boost =low power...

Does the cab smell of raw fuel when cold started......can you see black soot trails when looking up from under the engine at the firewall?

Exh leaks after the turbo are just a sooty mess that covers EVERTHING.....

Just like oil...no leaks is a good thing!

I was thinking that, I've got to replace them cause on cold starts it will smoke really bad from the hood!
