ADV not intending to thread jack but your avatar has a machined injector cap have you completed a set if so were they worth the time to do so ive been throwing around that idea for a few months and now i see your avatar any Intel would be fantastic

wow that took long enough for some one to ask questions. All I can say right now is its a work in progress the one in the picture I screwed up and its no good. Edits to my program have been made and I just need some time to make a set. More to come in the future. When I get a set done I will post up some pictures.

I did a writeup when i installed my duralift pump, not perfect but will give you a good idea of what your going to be doing, its in the tech articles now. If you have any other questions I can probably answer them since I just did it.
Best Mod I have done to date, and maybe i'm imagining it, but your truck will smell cleaner up front. I'm speculating the fuel odor comes from the weep hole on the mechanical pumps.

Truck will start better, and you will save fuel filters being able to remove and clean the bowl on the pump.

I used a 90 degree bracket and mounted mine on top op the right fenderwell, you will need a 4 pin relay to pick up power for it. It took me about 3 hours total to remove my old mechanical pump and install the Carrier pump. There is a great writeup here with pics about how to set it up.

Got my Duralift pump today....cant wait to get it hooked up tomorrow!!! I couldnt locate a block off plate anywhere so I was thinkin it would prolly do the same to just leave the old pump in there, but take it out and cut off the stem that goes in...any thoughts on that idea?

Big block Chevrolet fuel pump block off plate at Advance Auto Parts, NAPA, Oreilly and Autozone. Just be sure to grind a little off the bottom radius so that it dosen`t sit on the machined lip on the block and leak. I found out the hard way.

OK...I will check those places and see what they got. What might I need to connect a 3/8 rubber fuel hose to the existing line that I take off the manual pump?

Anyone keep the stock pump and plumbing hooked up and just remove the push rod? I'd throw it in the glove box just in case that pump quits in BFE

I just cut mine and slipped a 3/8" hose over the line going into the filter. I think its also possible to remove the inlet elbow and put a new one in with a hose barb (I believe it's 1/4" pipe thread).

Yes, I removed the 90° inlet fitting and replaced it with one which has a 3/8th hose barb. I ran the hose all the way back to the selector valve, bypassing the lift pump altogether. The real trick in doing that is to be sure you have it secured along the way.

You can see in the picture the fuel pressure gauge attached to the fuel filter housing. You can also see the original hard line still in place, coming up from the lift pump.

Gandalf,

Quick comment on your picture of the fuel filter head......I know from experience the brass 1/8 pipe nipple will break. The engine vibration combined wit the lenght and the weight of the gauge will cause it to crack at the filter head and result in an easy out job to ge the broken piece out. Just telling you my experience!

I don't know about the moosestang, but an update on mine, It's working great except I have an air intrusion somewhere that I need to find sometime this week, I have to turn the key twice to get it to fully prime, then it starts within seconds. Maybe its a GP issue, but no smoke and I don't see it going from healthy GP's to this just after the install of a lift pump.
