That would really help as I'm not a big fan of the black smoke. Gets all over stuff.
Word of advice on the passenger side exhaust manifold you need to remove the studs that bolt to the Y pipe. Factory N/A has a sholdered stud there that wont seal up the the turbo Y pipe. Real PITA.

As for mine, I bought the running 7.3 that's in my 85 F250, an almost complete first gen Banks, and had it delivered about 150 miles for $950. Russ has done the mods to it. I have my intercooler, piping, and just about everything else I need to install it. I pulled the engine out on the 4th to reseal it. The heads are going to be going in for a valve job after I get done porting them. My Typ4 cam from Russ will be going in along with head studs. It will be a little while before I get to drive it, but I'm sure it will be worth it!

Dang sounds like it should have some power after that. What kinda of power should I expect from a turbo?

Factory turbo, fresh injectors and fresh ip i think people are hitting 200 rwhp. N/A is around 145??

Yup, factory turbo OR banks wastegated(te06h) turbo, both do about the same.
If you do get a 110CC pump, make sure to get a Hypermax Smoke Puff Limiter with it. It controls fueling with boost, keeps you from smoking off idle, and really helps the low-end acceleration.

Pretty much

That's being generous. this article claimed 135 RWHP on a just-broken-in 92 truck.

I've seen one NA IDI on a dyno locally(2,000 ft elevation). It made 85(!) HP, and yes, the owner had cranked the fuel up.

So... compared to NA, it really makes a difference when you need the HP.

I find that unloaded, the 0-45 MPH time is about the same. The turbo barely kicks in, doesn't really affect it much.
45-60 or 70... it makes a difference.

Loaded? The more load, the bigger the difference.

I personally wouldn't attempt to haul a trailer with a NA IDI except in an emergency... you'll be going really slow.
With my 250RWHP IDI? I've hauled 9k without issue and kept up with traffic, going 75 on the freeway.
