hello all,

I'm looking into DT360 powered trucks but I'm not finding a whole lot. Specifically, I'd like to know

1) what are the best years for the DT360? I'm looking for the most power available with the least amount of onboard electronics (preferably none!)

2) what range of GVWR were available with the DT360 - or were these engines strictly under 26K GVWR?

3) what transmissions came commonly paired with the DT360?

Thanks all!

a.

I've seen dt360s in 30k gwv trucks and buses. I don't think you'd regularly want that setup though. If you're gonna stay under 26k, the dt360 is a good motor and can be turned up, however you'll still be happier with a dt466 if you're loaded good, and they are more common anyhow.
All the dt360s I've seen, had a 5 speed spicer, some with a 2 speed rear. There's a ton of transmission options though, including Allisons which are pretty easy to find.

I saw this truck in person, well done and functional swap. It's rare to find a successful dt466 swap.

My bad, I didn't realize he was wanting to swap a dt into a ford.. I that case, I would agree that the dt466 is massive for a pickup. I was referring to a stock international truck..
