Did the big drain cooling system today...pain in the neck really...drained the rad...flushed it...was super brown like a dark chocolate milk, flushed till somewhat clear.

Removed block plugs, connected lower rad hose....flushed again till somewhat clear...

drained again, installed two petcocks in block;Sweet great idea guys thanks!:hail

connected the lower rad hose, added two lil jugs of GUNK rad flush added water, ran till warm, letting sit, will go for drive, check fluid level and colour. If not dirty may try CLR for a flush again after I get rid of the GUNK...... then flush out again and add water, drive, flush, add water drive flush.

Gotta pick up some charged coolant next week and then done like dinner! Finally add coolant and coolant filter!

So this forces me now to get a bracket made up and some plumbing for the coolant filter I have already to go.

At this point is this worth doing a CASCADE dish washer detergent flush too prior to doing the final clear water then add coolant...I got some cause wifey has a dish washer!:dunno

Darn, forgot to get that filter setup NUMBER...doh...OK so yesterday I had the oppotunity to flush out more Brown I mean dirty brown water and flush chemicals from system OMG...wow was it dirty, Oh and those lil petcocks....great idea, just one thing...when you open them reaching up to the block...that warm yuchy water runs down your arm...right to your pits and all around your back, YA THAT WAS FUN...NOT! I'll take an old socket cut a couple grooves in it so I can use a ratchet and extension to open it....CLOSE by hand though...don't want to ruin it!

Now just letting water run for couple days, short trips and so forth...may try some CLR today after my Helo ride I won...short tour of Penticton BC area with my two kids and a friend! Ya I got it tough today!

Some of the okie ****** petcocks have a nippple on them for some hose to drain the coolant. Also if you leave the radiator cap on tight and the engine is cold the coolant wont rush out down your arm. But I know doing it hot makes more sence...

I found the plug on the drivers side, is the other one behind the starter on my 92F 350,if it is I'll have to pull the starter to get at it. Also how does the petcock come out of the radiator, I destroyed my and not sure which way to turn it to get it out.

Thanks for the help

yes the second one is behind the starter but there is zero need to pull the starter. just some 3/8 extensions and wobbles will get it.

Question...so what GOD did you pray to :hail in order to get the OE block drain plugs out?

i did no praying LOL, mine came right out. they were tight but did not fight me at all once they broke loose.

I'm a professional part remover....yardman at wrecker...and If I cannot get it off...it's not coming off...;)

UPDATE....made a puree in blender with HOT water and some FINISH/Cascade type dishwasher detergent, stuck that in after the previous flush...got more muddy chocolate water again...flushed till clear today 5 times, now on last clear rinse. Local Rad shop says that CLR is good for clearing out rads, run for afternoon or so he said, so guess that's next....1-2 gallon of that *****, and reflush again....local shop don't like my jugs of waste af lol.

Plan on filter the system when all done and well how bout....fresh coolant first...

I cleaned around the plug on drivers side with brake clean then paper tower with screwdriver to clean the crud away. Then a pencil torch around the plug and I used a 3/8 drive socket for a 3/8 bolt and put a 3/8 allen wrench in it and slid the 3/8 square drive over the plug head and put a crescent wrench on it and it spun right out.
:sly Hope someone can help me with the radiator petcock as I destroyed mine and it looks like maybe the radiator had been changed as the petcock doesn't appear to be in a larger plug. Looks like the plug is formed into the radiator permanent.

I gots 1/2 impact allen keys if need be...my plugs where male 9/16" heads...made it super easy. When I installed the petcocks, I used Permatex thread sealant on the threads and tightened in the petcocks let set for while then added water and flush compound....no leaks those petcocks are great!...and even on cool morning WITH rad cap closed...they **** on my arm and make me all wet...boo freakin hoo....it's worth it!

Added two bottles of CLR....damn man..that shitez nasty, now I got rusty water again, it plumb cleaned out a whole shiteload of stuff. This is gonna be one clean cooling system. I cannot beleive the amount of rusty water that is coming out again. I had it flowing fine with clear water till the CLR was added....OK simple nuff...time to finish this off before the 70 K = 40 M four by run this weekend coming up!

Have you thought about trying Restore Plus? Its supposed to be for flushing rust and scale out of the cooling system. The powerstroke guys swear by the stuff.
