So my door hinge pins are worn out and i have only basic tools up here with me so i called a local body shop and they told me $75 to replace all four hinge pins If I bring them the pins. Sounds decent to me but any opinions or tricks to getting them out that way I could do it myself?

The only way I have ever removed them was an end grinder to grind the bushing on top of the pin then they just fell out. prob is I dont have an end grinder or a couple of jackstands or even a jack that is worth a damn up here.

Also I am a little worried that the pin might have worn into the hinge so what all model trucks have the same hinges as this 91 and how hard are they to replace?

AFAIK all trucks had the same door hinges as the main structure of the cab is the same.

Body lines changes, interiors changed, but the main frame of the cab stays the same. I got a set of MINT crew cab hinges here off a 1990, and they match my 1992 hinges to a tee, and those fit my 1993 when I changed the doors.

For that price let them do it. If any adjustments need to be made they are best equipted to do that. You probably need the striker latch in the lock side of the cab adjusted once the doors are evened out again. I replaced my drivers side hinge because the flat spring broke... Door wont stay open....-cuss Big job... I will never do another door.... The wifeys door hinge spring broke too... Nope... Bought the hinge but not doing it... Thats her side of the rig.... Not mine.....:D

If I got $75.00 for doing mine I probably made $3.00/hr, and they're still not quite right since I put the new strikers on.

Don't remember any special tools.

It makes it much nicer for sure though.

Gary, it's a very good thing your wife doesn't read this site  :D

FWIW I'm pretty sure that the '80-'86 hinges are different in design...but I think that any '80-'97 hinge assembly will bolt in place of any other. I haven't looked closely at the setup used from '87 to '97, so I don't know if it's a better design than the '80-'86 setup is, but at least on a glance, it didn't look the same. Certainly, I don't know what "flat spring" you guys are talking about...

I've never tried to align a door, but I've dealt with realigning door latch pins on a few different vehicles...based on how much of a PITA that was, assuming they do it right, $75 doesn't seem like all that bad a price...

The "flat spring" is just that, it holds the door open...when it's open.
Sits on-top of/in the upper hinge and from what I can see >no way to R&R the damn thing unless the door comes off (or) the front fender is off = FORD genius engineer's. ;Really
