Has anybody swaped a 6v53 into an obs ford was interested to see what kind of room there's is. I figured the 6v53 should be a smidge shorter than the 4-53 as it's 3 cyl in a row vs 4 but not for sure on that. My main interest would be to see if there's enough room for a mechanical fan.

Was also wondering how twin turbos compare to compound turbos. I imagine twin turbos would be a lot easier to make fit.

Cool idea. I saw a guy swap in a 4-53 into mid 2000s ford on youtube. It was pretty slick. He got the automatic transmission to work with it too. It would be cool to see if it fits.

Yea the 6v53 came factory with 400hp in marine applications so I imagine 450-500hp should be possible with good reliability. I seen one guy who did some work on a 4-53 and got around 350hp but the torque was insane over 900 lbs.

You might be able to make it fit, but I think the weight of that engine will be the hold up.

The full aluminum engine only ways about 1150-1200 about the same or within a 100 lbs of the Cummins so I think weight won't be a problem

Good call. I didn't think about the aluminum version. That really does make a big weight difference.
