Dead in a parking lot! Need help now!

1990 F250 E4OD running fine no known issues. Went to the store went to start it had a brain fart and didn't "wait to start" now it's completely dead, no power to anything. What did I cook? Anyway to get it started w/o parts? Goes w/o saying a prompt response would help!

Does it turn over when you jump the two large terminals on the fender mounted starter solenoid?


If you try this, make sure you have the key to run position and the truck is in park so you don't turn it over where it has no power or run yourself over if it's in gear. But try that and see if you get anything from the truck.

Hey guys, thanks for the rapid response! I his forum rocks...
So I fixed it, it was just a wild coincidence that it happened after I'd been driving different gas cars and trucks for the last week... The right side battery cable lug gave up its marginal ghost and had loosened up enough to break contact. Man! I'm so glad it was an easy fix...

Now are you going to "fix the marginal" battery terminal so this wont happen again??? Might happen when someone else drives your rig if you allow that... If I want to test my rig I let the wife drive it. she ALWAYS breaks something. One day she gave the truck back to me with the rear view mirror in the front seat.. Never said a word till I asked.. "Oh... That fell of when I tried to adjust it".. Wonder if she used a hammer to adjust it...

Funny advise, as in coincidental.... Just the other day, my truck was dead in the water, I left the ignition on, and jumped the starter relay; fired right up. I figured the relay was done, but the next time I shut it down, and since then, I've had no problem. I was, and am going to look into 'relay' issues, and whether or not these relays can 'slowly' die out, or just have odd ball issues at times.....

My wife is pretty good about such things.
I already ordered a whole new cable assembly...

No hammer needed, Gary. It just broke off when she tried to move it a foot to the left so she could do her make-up easier.;Sweet



Should I start running now? Don't tell her where I live.

fyi; if your truck is up to operating temp you never need to pay attention to the WTSL.just hit the key and go.this will never hurt anything.
