Hi, in about 1 month I'll swap out my engine (1.6IDI), but before doing that I'll try the berryman anti carbon treatment. If there's any requests people want me to do let me know. Here's my plan
Before treatment
1) With cold & warmed up engine, document
- blowby smoke (at night with flashlight)
- smoke from exhaust (same)
- compression values, 2-5-7-10-15-infinite cranks (right now it gets to the specified psi but only after many many cranks, I want to check after treatment if it gets there faster)
Do treatment, swap out oil
- I'll do only cylinder 2 & 4 so I can compare treated & untreated cylinders
Do same tests as above
- I expect more compression from treated cylinders and blowby/smoke approximately to halve
Do engine swap
Crack open old engine
- take pictures of piston head, crown (&rings), engine head(valves), pre-injection cups. Document differences between treated & untreated cylinders
