everything has been going well for me running W85 with RUG. i just picked up 200 gallons of wmo from a racer friend, he had put it in his empty methanol barrels and said it may have traces of methanol. which got me to thinking about using E85 in place of RUG, doesnt E85 absorb water? that would be helpful, right?

Think some have tried this, hopefully they'll chime in.
The way bbjordan has been using a little extra water in his fuel, a certain amount might not hurt....

E85 and methanol (or basically yellow HEET) absorb and hold water through to the combustion event. I don't know if the water separator would pick that up.

In any case, I'd be wary of E85's intolerance of certain materials and solvent nature. Blending and settling a few bottles or jars may be a good idea to see how ethanol and oil stay mixxed.

I have been following bbjordans post, but frankly I don't see how that water manages to pass the filters unless he is using a non water capturing filter. Water block filters are quite good at catching both disolved and emulsified water. Well..... most are, others are horrible.

and this was kind of what got me thinking about E85, the oil in **** barrels i picked up had a little emulsified in the bottoms of each barrell and i was hoping it would carry it thru the filtration and combustion process, as mentioned. since i am still using a ghetto fab filtration and im sure it isnt great at water removal (although no problems as yet, knocking on my head).

I should have clarified, I'm talking about the stock filter under the hood. A while back I had a wet batch the blinded out everything except for the truck, but the shower heads on the truck are broken so I'm assuming that wet fuel may very well be sitting on the bottom of the fuel tank at this very moment.
