Used to have a set kind of like those. They got the sweet Jesus hell beat out of em...to the point where the doors were not functional. Then again I took that truck some places I prolly shouldn't have

Cool. Probably not practical for a stock height truck. (As people will complain about ground clearance)
Looks like you can buy some.

That's a neat idea. Tool box and step in one. They have to be tough though. Just road stuff beating them would be brutal.

I like the idea a lot, given the current height of my truck and the fact it sees little offroad beyond dirt roads and farm trails. Clearance loss would be not much more then I'd lose with running boards. I've been combing the interwebs for other examples but can not find anything like this, so this must be custom fabbed. Looks like I need to find a local source for metals and get back in practice welding :D

I hate to burst everyone's bubble, but they aren't tool boxes LOL

those would be gun lockers, they start at a couple grand, they are called "rocker pods" or "rocker pod cargo steps"
put some on my old boss's hunting truck a few years ago

Just build a nice heavy set of sliders into them that are tied into the frame... something that can support the weight of the truck if it hits an obstacle.

Look really slick.

The cab of your truck has more cubic feet than most arms rooms. Lol
Building your own is definitely the best option. Then is tailored to you. Well and I bet they don't make any long enough. Lol
