I NEED 2 tires for my dually to go on the front, I have 4 good firestone transforce h/t load range E's on the rears.
I want to know if it would be ok to run these federals on the front of my truck, idk what load range are I havent talked to the guy yet, I just wan to get my facts straight before I call him tomorrow. What are your thoughts on these ?

I will not pay more than $25 a piece for these if they are not dry rotted or cracking Idk how many he has.
I just want to know of they are worth my money, I realize federal is a "cheap" brand and they arent going to act or wear like michilnes.
I just need some tires to throw on the front for now to get me around town, I cant afford $150 a tire right now.

if you are tight on cash and need tires and they are in decent shape, run 'em. check the DOT date on them though. if they are nearing 10 years old or older than that, don't buy them. if you don't know how to read DOT date codes on tires......http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/infoSidewall.dos...check that link out. about half way down the page you will find the DOT date code info.

also, make sure they are load range E or D at the very least.

I agree with checking the date codes, I have a friend who keeps buying CL tires and then cant get anyone to mount them because they are too old. I have also used federal tires on trailers before without issue. I had one instance on an 85 F-250 with federals where the cords had shifted making it impossible to balance. I ended up running that tire on the rear axle until I could afford a new set.
