Annoying greenhorn here. Parked today and saw a coolant leak, traced it back to the water pump. Went in to check things out and found that my fan had about a half inch of play in it. I can grab a blade and shake it down to the pulley like a loose tooth. What the heck is that about? Do I need to tighten up the clutch or is that standard when the water pump goes out? Seems fishy...

If anyone has a good Changing Water Pumps For Dummies link I’d appreciate it!

Would be a good time to go ahead and fully flush the cooling system (and take out the block drains to get every little bit), new thermostat, and new fan clutch if yours is showing some age.
    Fleet charge coolant.
Iirc, the fan clutch is reverse thread.

Top two in the middle and bottom two in the middle. They are the 4 that go into the timing cover.
