well as if the Anti-Christ aka my pickup can't give me anymore issues today she gave me a new one. While driving to work in the morning im on the highway and get up to about 65mph the converter locks and then a few seconds later it unlocks, then a few seconds later it lock, this went on the whole way to work. even when i got off the highway and was doing this in stop and go traffic. on the way home i shut off the OD and it stoped doing it for about 5 miles and then it just started to lock and unlock the converter while on the highway. I know its kinda weird but can a TPS sensor going bad be causing this?

Yes it can... The tps needs to be changed every 50,000 miles. They wear out... When this same thing happened to me it cost me lots... I went to 3 differant dealerships because each one couldn't fix the problem years ago. First dealer changed the tps... Two days and just over $200.00...-cuss The second dealer changed the computer Just a little more than $600.00...-cuss The third dealer said I needed and new trans.... Nope... They didn't get me but... Ammco did for a new trans costing $2700.00....-cuss:eek: Still had the same probleam as you... Then I found this site... I think it was NJken told me to clean all 6 electrical connections that feed power and signals to the trans... Even told me where they were.... Cleaned with contact cleaner thats harmles to the plastic connecters... Then dry them and use die electric grease.....;Sweet:sly Problem solved for over 10 years now... So it was the easy least costly thing that fixed my issues... Ford customer service in Detriot wouldn't help me get back any moneise spent because.... I didn't return to the same dealer and tell them they didn't fix the problem.... Well I will screw Ford every chance I get now... This is a reason I'm here fixing others problems plus I love these motors and trucks... I kinda wonder sometimes just how much money I have kept from the dealerships accross Canada and the US... Too bad Ford... It was your mistake and you will pay for it as long as I am alive.....

As Icanfixall said, I would check the electrical connector on the passenger side rear of trans. Disconnect, clean, inspect and reconnect (that's free). Be carefull, there are ears or tabs that need to be worked to unlock the plug. If that doesn't do it then try the TPS. If those don't do it, then it might be related to the TCC wire that goes to the valve body, meaning either the TCC signal (which is either grounded/converter unlocked or 5vdc/convertor locked) if I remember correctly. Or maybe something in the valve body is bad.
