the needle nosed vice grips I clamped on the end of my clutch pedal shaft last time I replaced the bushing sure is working well...... I will drill the shaft and install a cotter pin next time I need those pliers. :sly

^^^^^ Kind of an expensive tool to use as a part. Best bang for the buck, see post #7 above - 7/16" drill stop collar on the end of the pivot/shaft. That, combined with a short piece of 7/16"ID x 1/2"OD brass tubing as a replacement for the craptastic plastic bushing. Done this with two trucks so far, and they're both smooth as silk.

I wouldn't use the set screw to adjust pedal height. I think the idea is the pushrod is fully inserted into the heim joint until it seats and the set screw holds it in place to the linkage doesn't come apart when you release the clutch or if things bounce around a bit. If your pedal is not high enough I recall every one I've had being adjustable so you can ensure proper travel while keeping the rod fully seated. I would grind a flat in the rod for the set screw to seat nicely on and either loctite or use a nut.
