ok I read a few threads, but did not give me answers.
At 60mph and above my speedometer needle bounces violently. I do have a flashing od light. trans pulls and drives good tach is steady. I clear the od light everyonce in awhile and after driving up to temp. it will come back on. Trans temp runs about 155 on interstate at 65mph.

If it's electric signal, check rear the diff. The tone ring could be damaged, loose, or metal debris is rolling around in there. (Seen it happen before.)

My 86 bounces around also, and it is Cable driven.
Even with my new OEM Spedo 6 digit head, it bounces around.
It has to be the old cable doing it. The cable runs off the T-19 in
my case, and thinking I need a new one, most likely the original.
And being 39 yrs old and 365K miles, cable probably rotated a few
times inside the sheath.
