What if you left the end in the barrel and put it toward the center of the truck, then the end of the barrel would act as the inside wall of the fender. Like the factory pickup box fenders work.....

I agree with you idea. It would need some attachment points I don’t have already.
I’ve actually made 2 sets already. This is what I installed to see first.

Hung the mud flaps and installed the tail lights. Still hafta wire it up. Still need to place side markers

eh....honestly I've never liked wood beds on pickups. Around here (PA) you can get a rust-free bed brought from the southern states for around $1600

It’s not for everybody. I’d already decided my truck was getting a flatbed. Regardless of how or what material.

After 3 attempts to wire the LED tail lights I went to YouTube and researched LED conversion. Then I got it right. I was using the resistors incorrectly. They gotta be parallel wired to the lights. Looks good now. Super bright backup lights. Gotta install the markers and license lights too.

Found a temporary headache rack. Still want expanded metal to go all the way up cab and for sides. But I need to use the truck this weekend so for now...
