BTW, I retract my previous statement about the lack of smoke. lol I'm not really the smoking type but I figured a Moose Pump should pollute the air some. Well it does! I rolled some coal with it tonight, just for a second though since my pyro still isnt working. I could not believe my eyes, or the lack of road I couldn't see behind me! lol

welcome to the dark side;Sweet thats awsome i love diesel smoke

So how is the power with all those mods? I will be following your steps in the next year or so. I will start with an intercooler and go from there.

I will be intersted to hear what your EGT's are doin when you get that going.

Nice work!:hail

Fixed the clutch today and a few other items that needed addressing.
I looked under the dash to see if the master was receiving the entire thrust of the shaft and it wasnt. Someone at some point put a heim joint on the master shaft and the bushing attaching it to the clutch pedal pin was gone and the pin was worn about half way through. I fixed the pin, welded it up and made it like new, better than new actually. I hardened the pin after I had it all welded up and welded to the arm.
The clutch works so frickin nice now!

I also received a new thermocouple from Autometer and installed that in the last few minutes of sunlight.
I also apparently wired my radio into an ignition switched power source so I had to redo that screw up and find the correct wire.

So I took the truck for a test drive after I got everything done. The clutch is AMAZING, the pyro works like it should, and my radio didn't reset itself when I shut the ignition off!
Oh yea, I can roll coal like no tomorrow in every gear until I top it out in 5th and I can't get the EGT's up over 950*! My boost does stop building at 10psi though. I was kinda surprised at that since I'd heard these turbos will build boost until they lift the heads off.
But 950*!!! I can't believe that!

Keep in mind you are still in the break-in period, give it some time and maybe try some pump adjustements as things progress. I managed about 11 PSI the other day and that was with VERY little smoke. Also look for boost leaks just in case.

Well something took a ****. No driving video today guys. Might have a diagnosis video to post though. Was driving home from town a little while ago. Making my way up a long steep hill and all of a sudden I lost a bunch of power, the truck started shaking and I could hear a definite miss chuff/clink kinda sound from the exhaust. I quickly checked the gauges, I was running about 9lbs of boost, EGT's were right around 800*, RPM's were right at 2500 or so, oil pressure was at 40lbs, oil temp was about 170*. I pulled over shaking in my boots afraid something serious had gone wrong but the oil pressure stayed at 13psi which is where this thing has been running warm idle. The chuff/clink sound is more in the exhaust than sounding like a rod or wrist pin hammering. It's definitely running one dead cylinder the way it's shaking around. So far the one thing I noticed is I have one injector that started leaking out of the return cap, and I didn't have that before. I'm gonna go out right now and run the motor and start cracking lines to see if I can verify its something with that injector. Then the question becomes is it one of the 7 diesel care injectors or is it the one from Pensacola diesel.

I've got one injector that doesn't seem to have any effect on the run quality of the motor, another that doesn't have much, and when listening through a stethescope I don't think the other bank sounds very good in the valve train. So basically I can pull the whole top end of this motor apart and I wouldn't be out of line.

Took the passenger side valve cover off, the one where I could hear what sounded to be the valve train noise. Nothing out of line there. Everything is fine. This is the same cylinder that blew the head gasket that seemed to be making the valve train noise. But like I said I found nothing.
I'm not sure what to do now. I don't have money for a new set of injectors. I'm as broke as all get out. I just don't know what to do. If I had the money it would be a no brainer to buy a new set of matched injectors from Russ.
