Where should I go from here? From an experienced point of view. Have this one sent off and rebuilt or just pick one up from online for 500? Do these go often or if rebuilt right it will last?

I'll second this. As for determining whether or not your engine's been studded, just look at the fasteners that are holding the heads down. If they have solid heads, they are bolts. Studs will have nuts over them and it's easy to see the two separate pieces of hardware. Studs, for example.There's really no point without a turbo. You won't be able to use the extra fuel without more air and you'll increase your chances of melting the pistons from the extra heat.
Just get a turbo! Changes things entirely.

as far as the pump. this says 92 mine is an 85. nothing Im finding just say stock for my truck. what should I be looking for?

Also the N/A pumps can be turned up later, when you install a turbo.You will notice there’s only two stock calibrations on my site, turbo and non turbo. For the non turbo pumps I use the 92+ non turbo calibration spec which is a modest upgrade for any of the older engines that used previous outdated calibration specs. The non turbo calibration will be the right way to go on your 85.
