Pulled the right rear tire off to check the brakes and to look everything over and I found broken rear spring hanger :eek::mad::mad: I was planning on driving my truck to St.Louis Thursday morning.

Question is I have rear leaf springs out of a 1988 fsuperduty sitting in my garage with all of the mounting parts, I dont want to use the springs that would be way to harsh of a ride but can I use the hangers with my stock springs?? My truck is by my dad and the springs are at my house so I could not compare them yet.

i just did new spring hangers and shackles on both sides last year, IIRC new spring hangers were about $36 and shackles were about $28. not a complicated job but labor intensive if things are rusted fast. i ended up dropping my rear tank to grind out the rivets on the frame since i could not get a clear shot from the other side of the frame.

a smoke wrench would have made things much easier.

got it all from NAPA. I did not think they would have it in stock but they did.
