So I've had this happen to me twice in two weeks. In the cab fuse box, fuses 7 and 13 have blown. I lose my turn signals and my ABS warning light in my cab starts to flash, the ABS has been disconnected since I bought the truck. The fuses have blown when I have put the brakes on hard and hit the turn signal. At least that's what seems to be happening. Like I said it's happened twice when I pull a OO crap there's my turn, hard brake, turn signal on.
Any ideas?
Short somewhere?

Best place to start looking is at the back bumper area. A lot of hokey wiring there usually for a trailer connection. Some people's wiring practices are not that great.

Yea PO wired in trailer breaks.

You are not worried about the brakes, you are worried about lighting. The brake circuit goes to a brake controller, but the brake lights and the turn lights are usually hooked in with the rear taillights.

Check your trailer wiring and anywhere the loom rubs the body. Look for rub throughs at the front and rear signal wiring, and from your signals to brake wiring. It can be a tedious process...

I'm in the same boat this last week; Drove home and lost turn signals and backup lights, replaced fuse and it popped pretty quick. Checked over the wiring and couldn't find anything obvious. Signals and backups worked again for a few days, then the harness settled back into place and fuse popped again. Another fun weekend ahead, haha.

Good advice above,

Anything done to the truck BEFORE it started blowing fuses? I once replaced my ignition switch, two weeks later it started blowing the turn signal fuse on left turn. Turned out that I had pinched a wire while installing the new ignition switch and it took two weeks to decide to ground.

Found my short. Plastic clip that held the reverse light switch wiring in place came out at some point during the ZF5 install. Wiring was blowing around loose under the truck while driving and resting on the front driveshaft, and since the hubs are locked for the winter it rubbed right through. Repaired the wires and zip tied back in place.
