Just got burned by Classic Diesel. They want a $100 plus to return the idle solenoid and TPS bracket on the Injection Pump I sent to them for reman

Any recommendations on IDI parts suppliers?

Couple places I am seeing but I want the TPS positioning bracket without having the pay Classic Diesel for my own part back.

Just a curious question, this $100 + Plus amount, is that for return shipping/freight cost from CDD back to you? Or is there more things or other things included/involved in this situation?
Like I say.......just a curious question from me.

Are we to assume that you forgot to strip your i.p. before you sent it in?
Also
Is the guy asking for extortion funds to return the parts to you?
Sorry for the drama on his end...

The guy has not been back since Oct 20, the day he joined and posted this thread.

We`ll never know the out come.

I have several old IP`s, I can pull what ever part he needs.
He is just over the hill from me here in Nevada,
of course it`s a big hill between us.

Well… 4 posts. I’m curious how many accounts are spam or bot posts. This one seems to be genuine despite the hit and run question but sometimes am less sure

My guess is yes. He didn't strip the IP before sending it in. Any supplier worth dealing with will tell you what all to remove before sending in a core. If you don't know, just ask. CDD just had a FB post yesterday (I think it was) about people doing just this. Their picture was of a core IP that got sent in with the brass fitting still on top of the IP. It was broken in shipping. Their question was are they supposed to supply a new fitting (or other broken parts) for free? I'm sure that R&D and Moose would feel the exact same way. It's really not the rebuilder's fault if someone didn't strip all of the parts off of a core before sending it in.

@Old Goat did you get eat up?
Dark places do in fact have really long teethed buggers that WILL IN FACT eat you!
My granddaughter can swear to that fact!
When she was bout 3yr old we were playing Hide-an-Seek…..I was hiding in dark closet by front door. She creeping round , grinning, yet scared cause she knew that any second she could get grabbed and eat up! But if she found me before I jumped and grabbed her, then she be the WINNER!!!
Well long funny story shortened,,,,,At first she had looked in closet I was hiding in, then creeping around house very cautiously looking and looking for me. Everyone else sitting on couch watching and laughing.
She couldn’t find me, grinning etc, yet all spooked up and ready to run!

Finally she circled back around and came to my closet, the one I was in, the one she had already looked in!
She looked again, nope I not there, she shut door and turned away. I jumped out and hollered “BOOOOO”!!!!
That little girl screamed and flat out DIED……. giggling and laughing, but Died!!!!!!!

She now 19 yrs old and she still laughing about getting eaten up by the “Ol’ ****** Man Himself!!!”

This is likely exactly where that "$100" is from, to purchase replacement parts for his damaged ones from shipping. CDD does clearly provide requirements for how to send cores in and stripping is part of that.

Shout out to CDD and R&D as Joe and Justin have been unbelievably helpful with my current build. Thankful for them and what they do!
