Im trying to figure out what kind of air horns I want to install on my brown truck. We had a single pair on my grandpas truck and I loved those things. But they are off of an old Diamond Rio semi and are very hard to find. I am considering doing a dual pair on my brown truck just to be different than grandpas truck. My dad works for a company that runs Macks, but I dont like how low their horns are.
Allot of you drive big rigs so what are your opinions on what horns will get peoples attention and scare the crap out of em? Because Im sick of retards pulling out in front of me. In the last 3 days I've had 5 close encounters with a possible accident, and Im sick of them just tooting along without hearing my frustration.

punkmechanic seems to have a good outlet on stacks from big trucks, I would be willing to bet he could probably score you some horns...

Is that yard specific to a couple brands or do they have the whole range?

I dont think they are brand specific. they really do have everything bigger than a 1 ton. I will look around a bit monday or tuesday and see what I can come up with.

Have a look around and see if they have any that look just like these.

And please no one bid on those horns, those are identical to what was on my grandpas truck and it has taken me 2 years to find those horns. No joke. And i just happened to stumble onto them while searching for horns for myself. What are the odds.

You must have been looking in all the wrong places.

I see those horn sets all over at various swap meets that I attend.

I have two sets, plus some spare trumpets, that I have been meaning to polish-up and hang on my truck somewhere.

Hadleys are also quite common.

There is also a guy on E-Bay that has a gazillion different types of air-horns, including several variations of the fake train horns.

There is a guy that passes in the night, out on the distant highway, and he "blows for the crossing" every night at the same place; if I didn't know better, I would swear that a train was going by.

I got a set of Fake Train horns on my deuce and a half.United Pacific Brand.Paid $120 on Egay.Closest thing I could find to a RS3 horn. They are loud.I will have to get a new vid of them on the truck.Train horns require TONS of air and you REALLY don't want to install them, blow them at people, and then tell about it on here.....Unless you want me to totally CUSS YOU OUT.I am very touchy on the whole HornBastard thing(Search Hornblaster).I would actually love for those idiots to do that to me.I would more than likely be in jail but they would be in traction After I broke every bone in their body and ran their car off in the river.

It's gonna depend on your wallet LOL

A good set of Nathans etc... over $1k just in the trumpets:eek:

I got mine from http://www.hornbastrds.com/products/ good price and service ;Sweet

I only have a 8 gallon tank being fed by a Viair 350c {100 percent duty rated----150 psi} and ran 1/2" lines to a tee that reduces to 3/8" at the solenoids at each trumpet.
And they are rated at 150db......can you :yell: me now LOL

They do have the expected result :hail

Ask Tonkadoc :D

This set of Nathans sounds awesome ;Sweet Every time I run this loco, it makes me want a set on my truck! The horn handle in this motor let's you play with the amount of air they get. It doesn't take much air, to get them sounding pretty good!

I thought of going with an actual manual valve so I could alter the pitch....but I just ran the solenoid wires to the horn pad relay...I can do short quick burps or full on blast....just ask the guy at the inspection station when WW took the truck for it's yearly------:eek: :rotflmao
