How do you go about buying the appearence blems right off of the truck? I need 4 Group 31S right now for the big truck and was priced $130.00 each....
OUCH.... I would LOVE to get them for $40.00 each... I don't care what they look like. They are in a battery box and buried behind the side fairing.....
my local supplier is selling them to me at $59/ea. no blems.

First, you need to find the big green Interstate battery truck, best if he is in a restuarant; that way you can buy his lunch and get on his good side; just don't get him mixed up with Mr. Goodwrench or the UPS man.LOL

Ask for his personal card and cellular phone number and tell him what you are needing and where you can meet him, so that he doesn't have to go out of his way; if he don't have what you want already on the truck, he will probably have it the next day.

It probably isn't best to approach him inside one of his dealing customers places of business.

I get batteries from Spalding big truck, its kind of a pick and pull type thing. $50 for a pair of good threaded top posts. Oh and just a lil tidbit, wind chill doesnt affect inanimate objects, its the affect of the wind on our moist skin

If that be the case, then why are we putting cardboard in front of our radiators ??; and, why do we need grilles and fans pulling through our radiators in the summer ??

:dunnoYou got me all confused now.:dunno

temp affects radiators, and heaters, and a/c or anything else related to temp. wind chill does not affect a vehicle in anyway... you can put cardboard on a radiator because its cold. grilles and fans are on a vehicle to disperse heat. it has nothing to do with wind chill factor. thats all.

i personally have 2 everstarts 850s and they are ok, however i also hooked up on a switch and relay to my yellow top under the hood. and for now i let the 2 normal batteries do their thing for the glow plugs but when i go to crank her, i hit the switch and throw the optima into the mix. the optima is almost 5 friggen years old and she still holds at 12.8v!! i hope to replace the everstarts with 2 more yellow tops so i can have 3 under there. that would be awesome!

My experience...My OEM Motorcrafts lasted 8 years, and worked great until their final day...Was out of town at the time and my only option was a couple of Autolites from a Kragen Auto Parts...Recently truck was getting very slow to crank in the morning...Cables were all brand new, starter is gear reduction 2 years old, everything looked good....took batteries out, ONE was completely toast...I bit the bullet and just bought 2 new motorcrafts...truck starts a million times better...WE'll see how long they last this time.

Yes exactly, the air moving through will disperse heat but it does not make the vehicle think its any colder

When I was selling parts, we pushed the Delco 78DT7yr for Ford diesels. Always held up better than Interstate, Federated, Continental, or CO-OP. Rarely ever warranted one.

Seems like the big problem was the hokey crossover cable setup. We measured up a 'stock replacement', and fabbed better ones out of welding cable, zinc-plated brass terminals, and heavy duty self sealing shrink tubing. Not cheap, but a lot more reliable
