250 i never asked. I told the dude i wouldnt replace mine with another none rebuildable unit and that there is a good demand for parts. That went nowhere. Maybe everyone with a banks kit should call and harass them for parts. Im still going to install mine even though it is a te06h and hope when rebuild time comes along avalibility comes along too.

stealth what was the shop you had the work done at?

Ron's turbo shop in Utah. He is on eBay as well. Found him through another forum before I came across this site. Can't remember which forum cause I haven't been back since I got here haha

In 2006 I tried to buy parts like the hot wheel from Banks.. Nope... Ended up paying $1100.00 for the turbo ready to bolt on my manifold. Thats how I got a spare turbo. It was never my intention to have a spare turbo. So now I have purchased most every other cast iron part of the Banks sidewinder wastegated turbo system. I never did like the Banks cone type air filter so I went to S&B in Ontario Ca. Showed them what I wanted by handing them a Banks cone filter. A few weeks later they called me to say its ready. They made me 2 filters. Went to get them and they asked to keep my Banks filter. Sure. I wont be using that again. What do I owe you for these filters.. Nothing.... Just tell all your friends about us. So I did and when they contacted them about making custom filters for them they said they don't do that kind of work.. WTH is that about. In closing I got 2 better filters that what I had with Banks. Banks filtrs never did fit very well to the air horn attachment.

Oh my.. Are you in for a job first timer. Removing a wastegated sidewinder turbo is a job I do not look forwards to doing. Watch the 4 nuts that holds the turbo to the header pipe collector. On mine I had to tilt the turbo just to get the nuts off. Going back on is a treat too. Best thing I invented was electrical tape the nut in the socket. Otherwise it falls out when you tip the socket over to the stud. I also use a 3/8 drive socket set because it fits in there easier. Getting under to loosen the oil drain is tuff too as is the rear mounting bolt to the bell housing side. There is plenty more but this post will get way too long if I talk about all of it here.

Gary; I didn't have "MUCH" trouble installing my Sidewinder other than dropping the downpipe bolts down inside the downpipe three times, had to disconnect the bottom only three times and get a magnet to fish them out. You can tell ya dropped them when ya hear the rattle and cuss words coming out the mouth.  :puke:

The turbos are very rebuild-able its jsut a matter of being able to source parts. Company's only want to sell you cartridges. i see a custom job coming on in the near future.
