Hey guys!

So I need a compressor wheel + turbine shaft/wheel for a roasted TE06H......it ate an air filter :puke:

The previous owner removed the wheel + shaft/wheel and tossed them.........awesome

Run around: banks said call garrett.....garrett was nice enough not to return my email and they dont have a contact number. ;Sweet score one for customer service....not

From what im gathering i think these are actually garrett wheels/shaft+wheel?

I understand its a MHI (mitsubishi) turbo. Part of me wonders if garret made these for mitsu:dunno

...i used the search button...it only got me this far..

Ide:confused:s? :yell:haaaaaaaaaalp?

It would be useful to have a turbo parts sticky to source from

thanks everybody! :hail

the bad part about Banks turbos is the items you are needing is not a standard aftermarket sourced part. They are strictly proprietary items made for Banks. They will be the only source for the parts.

call banks and tell them to give you garretts number lmao

if i were under the impression it was that easy i would, when i called banks it took 25 minutes to talk to a representative :/ im sure there's a reason that number is unlisted. They may not even sell to the public as thats the case with alot of manufactures, they want you to contact a distributor.....run around

seeing as its a teo6h with a mitsu tag are you saying that the compressor housing+wheel+maybe other things are differ from the mitsubishi TE06h?? Im atleast somewhat under the impression these are the same thing with a differently stamped compressor housing thats alll fancy and says sidewinder

do a search here. you will find extensive documentation about how Banks handles this turbo model. don't take my word for it......DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE ARGUING.

who's arguing? i just asked a questions........

"seeing as its a teo6h with a mitsu tag are you saying that the compressor housing+wheel+maybe other things are differ from the mitsubishi TE06h??"

one im still curious about?:dunno

i did a search found 4 threads none of them with any specific usable information.

One thread said the "H" in the model is the big factor in design difference but supported it with no follow up info or links or references or anything

the sad part is,i think you now know what we all know about them brother lol.this is the bad part about this kit.if you want or need it reman, you need to send it/buy it from banks.how much did they tell you it would be to buy the turbo or have it reman? like a grand or something crazy?
anyways, your not alone.you figured it out.we're all still curious about it.LOL

how did your air cleaner get sucked into it anyway?

hahha im the kind of guy that stops the customer service rep mid sentence before he can even get a quote out and say.......na man i just need the part i do all the work.......hell i was even gonna try to reman my own injectors but i didn't have time in the project to stop and make the tester..ha

Dont get lack of information confused with lack of part availability!!!!!!

I think the "gimmick" is that garrett makes (at least) the wheels and shaft BUT
that's purely speculator at the moment. Simply a theory based on things ive read. Maybe someone can chime in on this theory.

about 9 years ago I needed the hot wheel and shaft. Seems something went thru my turbo and damaged the hot wheel. Sadly these are made as one piece. you can't buy just the hot wheel or the shaft. They are hard to find REAL oem parts too. The shop doing this rebuild for me finally found the shaft and wheel. It was nearly a 6 month wait. Lucky for me I had bought a spare turbo from Banks. I too tried to buy parts but they stiffed me on that. The shop was very good rebuilding my turbo too. I think I was about $350.00 including labor on it but its been some years back too. Now the really sad information about al this. Mitsubishi makes this turbo. If you have a part number they will sell directly to you from Japan. THEY WILL NOT LOOK UP ANY PART FOR YOU. You have to know the part number when you order from them. Hows that for a crappy customer service. Best contact Mel and see what he can do for you. There is no BS from Mel. Ebay sources will sell you crap telling you its the oem stuff so be cautious.

If i remember correctly in various Banks Mitsubishi threads, both Mel and Russ have made comments that is it almost impossible for them to get parts and they REBUILD TURBOS.

In the end, I think most have ponied up and called Banks and got what they needed. This is not an uncommon practice. Gearvenders is the same way. You break a Gearvenders, you send them the broke one, and they send you a new one. PERIOD.... there is no official "parts list" for the Gearvenders. There is 1 part number, for the entire unit. I am not saying you coulnd't reverse engineer and get a part that will work. But how long are you willing to park your truck and wait? Most here have the truck for a reason, and a parked truck is no good to them, fix it, or replace it......

:rotflmao oooohhhh great new for us guys with GV units

lucky for me the turbo is "stock" for a future project, or maybe ill replace my old school banks with it. Either way first things first, its not gonna spool without any wheels in it......lol

Im going to contact mitsubishi and one or two of there parts distributors and see what they can tell me if anything.

Mel do you sell just the wheels and shaft???
Do you have a mitsubishi part number on these or do you know of the number?

Ohhhhhhhhhhh CRAP..

The new truck I just bought has a Sidewinder.. lucky me.. I get to do a head gasket on it.. so turbo has to come off.. Looks like I'll be giving it the old inspection while it's off..
