I've been thinking about buying a larger work truck so i can avoid needing certain materials delivered. Unfortunately I live in CA where diesel regulations are ridiculous. I have read a bit of info regarding fleets and vehicles over 14,000 gvwr and the need for engines 2010 or newer but I am uncertain where someone like myself fits into the whole mess. I do not operate a fleet and the F450 would only be my second vehicle. The truck would be used primarily for transporting people, tools and bulk materials to and from job sites. Hopefully somebody from Cali can shed a little light on how CA classifies my situation. Does CA want older F450s to be retrofitted with DPFs? Other? I have tried the DMV website but found little info that helps. Thanks in advance.
