I have had good luck with blazers lighting relays at least for LED applications. They are cheap but mine have always held up great for what that’s worth.

The 80 - 86 I now for sure, the back up lights only shined to the rear. Nothing to the sides and pretty pathetic for lighting up anything.

I was at PNP a few years back and noticed a set on a (I think 90 or 91) that Ford finally woke up and changed the design so the lights shine to the rear as well to the sides.
Also the tail light assy is rounded and smooth.

I put these on the 86 and really helped with the standard 1156 bulbs.

I was up at Hot August Nights car show in Reno, Nv. last Aug., and a vendor was selling Led replacement bulbs.
Put hose things in and lights up the whole front yard.

I think Ford used these for a couple years, then changed to the light only shining to the rear. At least that is my observation from what I notice at PNP.

I must have 6 sets of these I dragged home when they have 50% sales.

The Carpart one`s are probably Chicom`s.
