How in the hell do I get to the back lift pump bolt to remove it? In the process of putting my facet pump in and I'm convinced there is no way yo get anything to this bolt.
Use a 3/8 drive socket and about a 3 inch extension. Unscrewing it is easier than installing it for sure.
Care needs to be taken with the chevy block off plate. Most of them are a little too long and will hang up on the upper block casting machine line causing a huge oil leak.
Never have I had fuel pressure this high. Got it fired up and running. There is an air bubble at the bottom of the clear bowl on the facet pump that won't go away but I'm thinking that's normal as the fuel level doesn't change under accelerating.
With the block off plate it came with a gasket and I used some create a gasket around the edges and had nice smooth clean metal when I mounted things up there. I didn't notice the lip but I ran it for a 5 minute drive and revved it up in the driveway with no leaks so I think I'm good?
Wrong. Not good, it is leaking oil. Not much for being up to temp and all but one drip every thirty or so seconds.
I'm not exactly sure what you guys are saying with the block off plate though. Is it too big overall or at an angle at the top? It seemed to fit perfectly when I was putting it on, but its not like I could actually see up in there.
My old lift pump is of 0 use to me, so maybe what @shawn deere said is a good idea to make sure they are 100% the same.
yes it does matter, the top needs to be ground off to make it fit,
I did find a spectra part number that does not need modification, but you already got that one, grab a grinder and make it work.
