The oil feed on my 093 ats turbo I just finished installing is leaking oil out of the fittings on the hard line.

The orings? in the fittings are very stuck. Is there a way to replace the seals or am I better off ordering a braided line?

Thanks!

Those are called olives around here, I'm sure they are actually square cut o-rings. But yes after many years they are a pain.
My originals were so hard I worried about damaging the brass fitting before getting that darn olive out!

Personally, I burned mine out after messing with it WAY too long(actually that was the fuel line olives, but same thing). Don't go crazy on the torch, a gentle flame will do. They may even self-sustain after a bit.

I'm sure some searching or another member will be able to give the exact size.

Vendors that probably have them:
russrepair.com
classicdieseldesigns.com
idiperformance.com

Haha dang always assumed the olives were the black injector return caps. But also no turbo!

They are also on all of your hard line from the lift pump to filter, from the filter to IP, and the hard return lines. Those have nothing to do with a turbo.

Or just do a braided steel line upgrade. Lot more flex, deletes the olives, and easier to install.

Does this feed from down low by the oil cooler or feed from top rear behind the intake?
I need to do something because my olives are seeping oil feeding my '94 Factory IDI Turbo.
ON EDIT: I'm talking about the braided flexible steel line.....where do it feed from?

Depends on how you plum it in. I fed mine off the side of the block. Ive also seen them fed off the same tee as the oil pressure sensor

I run a stainless braided line on mine. Tried making a hard steel tube and had a couple times where it cracked on me while far from home. Not often, but often enough. The OEM pipe is probably more reliable than what I made, however.

Well back when i had my original '90 IDI engine with the ATS 088 it fed down there off side of block.
With my '94 Factory IDIT it feeds hard line from top oil sending unit area/port.
IIRC my '94 is 1/4" oil feed while IDI is 1/8" feed for oil pressure sending unit.

With the 90* fitting, it's designed to feed where your 088 fed from.

You're right on the sizes. Most of the turbos get their oil from that port and have no oiling issues. 1/8" is all you need.

LOL LOL
Well I must say that I keep my '94 Factory IDIT engine's BUTT WIPPED!!! LOL LOL

I feed off block down low up to a Tripple RRR Toilet Paper Oil Filter, Then in series to a Frantz Toilet Paper Oil Filter, then return to a fitting in the plate at front of IP gear housing.
Don't know if they do any good but I EBayed them & mounted them to my added on mount up by my driver's side battery box.
I remember that @icanfixall (Gary) ran them & liked them.

I tried burning out the old olives. I had no clue thats what they were called.

I ended up just buying a braided line from CDD. I wasnt convinced that i cleaned the ancient brittle rubber out good enough to make a good seal.

Side note… Will the factory 7.3 turbo intake work on a v belt 6.9 with AC? Any adapting needed or is homebrew better?
