The old ones were indestructible aside from rust. The newer ones not so much. There was a guy in my home town that would literally cut them in two and weld two halves together to save wrecked cars. Nary so much as a rattle. But that was the 90's.
My buddy had one window the block after a HG job.

Man this thread went from love to hate for the Subarus
that's why I don't talk about them much. all I know is my wallet loves them and that's really what counts.
I don't hate subarus, I was looking at one recently.... I just think the whole "fart can muffler, ricer" thing is just stupid bullshit.....
There is a fusion local to me, that is all "riced out"..... it's the most rediclous little thing.... he tried to race me in my 07 P71.... yea I didn't even break 1/2 throttle...... he tried though... it was cute.....

It's is but it's because there are not enough real classic cars with big v8's to play with,so the kids only have to work with what's out there today.
I like my Impreza (04 OBS, ej25/5 speed) because A) it was free and B) it handles 120 miles round trip on logging haul road to work every day without falling apart. I just wish the previous owner had believed in washing it. Rust is going to kill the thing...
