Nice clean truck with low miles but the VIN tag doesn't add up for an IDI or IDI turbo unless I'm reading it wrong. I thought the 8th digit should be a "K" but this one has a "C" instead and the 11th digit is a "K". Perhaps an IDI was swapped in? I haven't contacted the seller yet and would rather make sense of the VIN tag before doing so. Any help appreciated.

93 was a year when the idit was an option. A na Vin was m. In 94 I believe the idit was k and the powerstroke was f. Did a Vin decoder search of this one and it was correct.
I would ask the seller for a pic of the engine, if the intake looks like this pic it's a factory turbo

I'll contribute a bit here, probably just to confuse us all. I've had this on my hard drive a long time. No idea where I got it, though it looks as though it might have been posted in a forum. Looking over this list, my immediate question would be whether this is a factory turbo? I seem to recall vaguely that the factory turbo started in '94.

EDIT: According to Nostrokes the turbo was optional in '93.

My mistake. Odd, I guess all the other factory IDI turbos I have seen just happened to be '94s. Surprised I hadn't noticed this before now.

This list is not complete in not showing that in fact in 1993 the factory IDIT 8th position should be a C. The information I posted comes from a 1993 7.3 IDI Turbo Diesel Ford service Manual Supplement.

No mistake with all the variables it's easy to get confused and second guess things. I ran into the same thing a few years ago. Was looking at a 93 the seller claimed was a factory idit, I was absolutely sure the turbo didn't come out till 94. Did hours of looking and found the turbo option in 93.

I would agree. Figured this out while searching for an air conditioning hose / manifold. FTR, the 94 IDI factory turbo use the 92-93 non-aspiated / non turbo engine code "C" hoses. The 94 hoses appear tp be identical except for the connection for the high pressure switch at the compresser outlet. I didn't do a side by side physical comparison so this info is worth what you paid for it.

If you really care about it being a turbo motor be sure to look at the engine serial as well. Many of these trucks have had the engines rebuilt/replaced by now and many didn't get IDIT blocks and internals put back under the factory turbo kit. I got a IDIT vin correct truck a couple years ago only to find out that at some point had a N/A long block put in; it even had the correct oil feed port size for the turbo but the heads, rods and pistons were all N/A. At least I got an extra turbo kit out of the deal but otherwise I'm still a little upset I didn't check thoroughly enough. Be aware if you care.

I need to post a correction, the 94 factory tutbo air conditioning manifold / hose IS NOT the same as the 92-94 non-aspirated. The correct hose part # is pictuted below
