    well just got my truck towed home first time in 10 years 1983 f350 7,3 idi....wil not start unless i purge the fuel filter neck like a valve stem thing anyone have any ideas why iam loosing prime in my system..i see absolutly no diesel leaks under hood

    just because there are no leaks, does not rule out that line. On multiple occasions I have had the metal fuel lines before the lift pump rust out on top and suck a bunch of air but they didn't leak .Since there is not a lot of pressure there, it won't always leak, but it will suck in air. It could also be a fuel pickup in one of the tanks fell off.
