Thank You!! No we have not checked that. We will check that this weekend.

A new piece of the puzzel. I drove the truck for the first time since we last worked on it. Using the front tank. There is still fuel leaking from the top of the rear tank. We have replaced the fuel lines and triple checked all connections. Any ideas on what might be causing the leak? Would that also attribute to the air in the lines? I don't have a good understanding of how the whole system functions.

My brand new Holley Red showed up yesterday. Original box with instructions and mounting hardware. I got if off evil Bay for $50. From a guy that bought it for a project and never used it.

Thanks for the help. And thank you Exekiel for all the help you have provided.

Charlie

Charlie, is the tank leaking at a fitting, a hose, or some "mystery" spot? One thing IS for sure, as was already mentioned. A fuel leak = an air leak. That said, your selector valve should differentiate fully from one tank to the next. The fact that your still leaking fuel could indicate that the supply or return is still in operation due to a faulty seal in the selector valve. I wouldn't use this as an excuse to get a new valve, but you may want to disconnect the lines to the rear tank, and plug them temporarily as an aid to solving the problem.

Last time We removed the rear tank is was wet at the top but it look like the fuel was leaking from the old hoses so We did not touch the fuel sending unit, also it would leak when runing so that ruled out the chance of it been the o-ring at the sending unit, not it is still leaking and I know We tight the hoses well so We'll drop the tank again and re-do it all from start, since We are installing a holley Red to rid off the bleeging.

Some help here please, I went to autozone and they don't have the block off plate anymore (so said the teller) so I need to get one some place else, here is this link from summit but they have many and the price vary a lot, so all of them would work?

Thank you.

i did my holly red install about 6 weeks ago. i bought "sum-402035". for the obvious financal reason(i'm cheap). don't buy that one. it does fit but not good enough. it leaked from the start. i removed it and you can see the block imprint on the gasket, it doesn't sit quite low enough. i had to stuff extra gasket material under the plate. it still leaks but not bad anymore. i need to remove the plate and elongate the holes, so that the block-off plate sits lower.

so to recap don't buy "sum-4020335" :puke:

no it's not on upside down. :backoff

Today Charlie and I got to work on the EP, then We started the engine and still no go -cuss :shoot: -Flame Thr , then after a few minutes of nothingness We drop the tank just a bit and found the hoses strangled, got them loose and FINALLY in just one try it runs great (I love the electric pumps on this trucks) so just wanted to let you all know when you replace the fuel hoses on the tank (specially the rear tank) make sure they fit well and they are not strangled so the fuel can go trough them.

Thank you all for the help.

My rear tank leaked when more than half full. To make a long story short, found a hair line crack at the welds on the tubes comming through the sender cover. JB weld did wonders. Any one need a good used rear metal tank?

1989 F250, 7.3idi non turbo, std cab, rebuilt e40d 12/05, all new sensors, 108,000, 15k aux trany cooler, starting slow restoration. 1st diesel, love it

Thank you for the Holly Red install today. As always you did another first class quality job. I took the truck for a good ride tonight and no leaks. She ran very sweet. Good job on figuring out the line issues.

Thanks!!!
