Ads on right side of screen cover up site content

Windows 10 pro and current version of Chrome. Since the site update, the large ads on the right side of the screen frequently stay on top of content underneath. Like when pics in posts are maximized the ad on the right stays on top of the picture. And when I click my notification button at the top, that drop down is under the ads as well. Is that something in my browser causing that or some site setting? It’s pretty obnoxious to try and figure out what’s underneath, any suggestions on how I might go about fixing it?
