Ok so I decided to get Mater's GP system operational this year.
The motor has only 30k on it and had fresh gp's installed I was told upon acquiring the deal.

So I get a fresh set of Motorcraft Berus's and start the swap.
Yes an ugly mess with 6 Autolites and 2 Champions.

Well 3 Autolites were swollen, 2 were ok along with the Champions.
The 1st gp I attacked gave me a 45 minute fight and I was near defeat when after a PB blaster bath, and several obsceneties with my neighbor looking over my shoulder, it finally came out.

Here's what it looked like.:puke:

Anybody ever see one bent AND swolen?

Wow, that's an ugly *******! And cudos for PB Blaster, that thing is a life-saver when it comes to glowplugs.

Yeah, I was mentally preparing myself to pull the head, till the PB finally kicked in.
My neighbor that comes over spending lots of time hanging around had to tell me to slow down just a bit and offered himself for comedic relief to easy my mind.

Maybe 10 trips up and down off the core support had my shorts a wee bit too tight.:dunno

.....nope....ain't gonna say it LOL

Ron...;Sweet job  I have pushed using PB Blaster for it seems like an eternity....you just need patience man ;p....just be glad it was not the one under the turbo  -cuss

How are the plastic sleeves....most likely brittle or just gone ?

Get some double wall adhesive lined shrink tube...I did mine on the '90 using 3 different colors and it actually turned out looking real sweet and tight!

Glad to hear of another sucessful dead GP extraction that did not involve head removal :hail

Yep, that radiator top is fun to hump...and the hood hook is a blast too
The old style Western plow and brackets make for quicker access, but yeah that hood latch is either a great stab in the chest or the seat end, just depends on how ya like to work.LOL

Yeah gott love that stuff. Smells like crap but sure does the trick.

Patience had grown thin since I had to finish that and then start reassembling a Jeep motor as well that day.

This one is my 6.9 truck with yes, an operation 6.9 GP system.
