A/C question

I tried the paper clip idea, compressor didn't come on at all. .

This may sound like a really dumb question but I'm afraid it has to be asked. You did this.... with the AC controls in your cab set to AC on, did you not? If it was set to off, or heat, then the paperclip will not share it's electrons with the rest of the truck.

Yep, it was set to max AC and I tried regular also. Might be time for me to buy a shop manual and some more tools, or borrow some. My clutch is doing nothing at all. I tried to run a jumper from the postive post to the clutch and got no reaction.

Working backwards the next test would probably be to check for 12 volts at the plug with A/C controls on and the low pressure switch jumped across the plug. Check for blown fuses.
