Thanks again for the help! I have not had any luck with yet today... Just lots of bad words. Lol. I'm going to try and make a slide hammer with the vice grips. Maybe just maybe.

Might work. If you get it to wiggle, can always go with cranking it over. Just make sure to cover it with a heavy blanket. Can come shooting out like a bullet.

The vice-grip-slide-hammer that I put together did not work either. I did it until I was so tired that I could not grip the vice-grip on the plug any longer. I'm going to give it another shot tomorrow after work.

Could that plug welded itself inside?

I would try and crank it over... However, I broke the solenoid on the injector so I'm going to have to order another one. I found them on eBay for $35.

i went to look at a spare set of heads i have the other day when we were posting.
i noticed that one of my heads had fallen, and someone had stepped on it..
that someone being me.

i proped it up back into place and noticed that the glow plugs were bent.

my initial thought was, "i hope thats not this guys issue"

well you gave it a hell of a shot , ive read.
i almost wonder if you have a *****'d hole.
spun bearing which let the slug beat on the GP...

my advice to you would be to pull the head...
it sucks, but how else are you gonna get it?
dont think running it would help, but worth a shot...

You could crank it over with that Solenoid being broken. Just pull the pcm fuse, or unplug all valve cover harnesses.
Even then, if it hasn't moved at all, it's really stuck. I would almost say to bring that Cylinder to tdc, find a way to apply shop air through the injector hole, then try tapping the glowplug in to break it loose.
Hate to say it, but does sound like it may end up requiring head removal.

Im going to slide hammer it until the plug breaks off or comes out! If it breaks...then I will start thinking about head removal. Oh boy is right! Lol

Thank goodness I have a 6.4 that is my "good" truck and I use this 7.3 as my "daily driver" work truck.... I dont have to walk!!

Lol oh yeah, I think I saw your threads on the other site.
You were trying to replace the axle in the idi?

Yes! Its broke down too. My 92 idi is my first love (my avatar). I bought her when I was in HS in 1996, has over 500k miles now and runs great. Just has a busted axle that I cant get out. I did find a rear end for it but I drug my feet and its gone now. Depending upon what happens with this 97.... that 92 might get its rear end! Idk!!!

I bought my 97 back in May. I have driven it everyday until 2 weeks ago! Wait for this......I paid $500 for it.[emoji23]

Haha nice.
Any chance you have access to a tig welder?

No, I do not. I smell what you are cooking and I like it! My Dad and talked about if you could even do that on Saturday....

You could weld something to it to give you leverage. Maybe.
After all this, now mine aren't working. I think it's my harnesses and plugs though. Lol

I have not used anytype of heat around it because of what Idioit said about the injector cup. My dad and I talked about trying to weld something to it but it's just really hard to get to, because it is the plug right next to the firewall. The brake booster is not in the way but it makes it akward. When I get home from work I will continue with the slide hammer.
