'90 7100 IH road tractor needs more power

my truck has the dt466 with the intercooler. without spending a bunch of money how can i get some more out of it. I think it is 230 HP now. I will check the tag tomorrow. I pull a tilt top trailer with it hauling a D5G,310D possably a 120C.

you should have a bosch linline pump on that motor. find a pump shop who really knows what they're doing and it shouldn't be a whole lot of trouble modding the pump.

Lots of turbo options. 3Lm, GT37, GT40, GT42, Holset HX40, HX50, just to name a couple. There are things you can do to the pump for free to pep it up a little. For more than the 20-40hp that gives, try a set of injectors and a turbo. Your pump is likely an MW pump, which is ok, but not the best for bigger power.
It all comes down to the old motto of how fast you wanna go/how much you wanna spend?
