All in All this is a Awesome Build I wouldn't attempt something like this

i spent all day on this damn bed.
i do not like it at all.
i have the bed tach'd together and installed.
when i installed the tank, i installed it with the factory gasser sheild and straps.
well, i had to drop the tank 2". the bed wouldnt clear.looks like the bed is 1/2" wider.
this is why i didnt finish it. gonna have to be recut and finished up.

im all out of time and money for this project.
to be honest, im getting burnt out on the project. time to take a little break.
still a few things i gotta wrap up. door sill plates, front kick panels, and shifter boots.
im missing one trim piece for the top. anyone have any blue interior pieces?
all in all it turned out very well.
i also want to make a mahogany center counsel.
got my water seperator in today along with my door weather stripping.
gotta take tomorrow off and take her( the truck and the woman) for a drive.
maybe a drive down the coast.
ill post some final pics on monday after i finish the few things up.

Actually, I'm probably younger than you are (I'm 33, and for the longest time I was one of the youngest members on here)...I was referring more to how long I've been around here. I first joined STD in 2000, and followed one of the early migrations to OB in 2005...so I've been part of the IDI crowd for 15 years and on OB for 10 of them. Good grief I've got too much time on my hands

I know what you mean...I once worked aboard a 65" twin-screw workboat that I think could be turned into a nice liveaboard.

I joined the program when I was 12 years old and have been involved ever since, although I can't do as much nowadays since I work weekends. That first boat had a single 6-71 main engine; I was wrenching on that when my contemporaries were watching "Power Rangers" This is where I got my knowledge of diesels...it's funny in a way; many of the people on here are Ford guys who happened to get a diesel; I'm a die-hard diesel-head who happened to get into Fords (proudly spark-free since 1999 ). BTW the program's called Sea Scouting...it's a little-heard-of (and not advertised nearly enough) division of the Boy Scouts. We're always looking for new members

Here's somewhat of an inane question, may serve as a bit of a distraction.

Have you noticed any difference in seat belts front vs. rear, super or crew cabs? I need new seat belts in my regular cab, and I passed on a real clean set from the rear of a super cab at the junkyard, right color and everything. It's been bugging me ever since. I'd hate to go through all the trouble of getting them only to find out they're too short, don't fit, etc. I appreciate your help.

the only difference is the shoulder belt type vs. the lap belt.
the 87 XLT lariat had rear shoulder belts, where the 89 XLT only had rear lap belts.

so the 1st row has shoulders, and the rear has lap.
i was thinking about changing the rear to shoulders as well, but the top belt mount is non-existant.
i could have cut the mount off the extra part i had and weld it in, but by the time i thought of this, i already had my back privacy window in and i didnt wanna throw slag all over it.
shoulder belts are shoulder belts, they are all the same, im pretty sure.. well, atleast they were for me..

took her for a nice long drive today, damn this thing is fun to drive now!
developed a damn fuel leak on my injector return lines.
i wish i could paint the rear section invisable..lol
everywhere i stoped, someone was taking a picture or asking me if i bought that...lol
