I have a 1984 International 1654 that had a electrical fire under the dash. Fast forward to now. We rebuilt the floor and pulled the wiring harness and replaced with another from a wrecked truck.
Problem:
We seem to be missing a few modules under the dash: shut down temp switch, shut down pressure switch. And whatever I need to turn fuel and off and cycle the glow plugs.

Thanks for any and all advice.

So I don’t know about those others never heard of them but the fuel and glow plugs just take a 12v key on. It probably would have been easier to just build a new custom harness

As to the shut down system if you do not have the modules from the old system and did not get them with the new harness you have a couple of options. Find a truck that has them that you can rob or install a Murphy shut down system. You can do it with just a temp switch and oil switch or you can install their gauges. That would be up to you. Magnetic switch 518APH-12 25700147 is the switch, you could use a Stewart Warner temp switch such as 83301, and a Standard Motor PS12T oil switch should work. The switches are available in different pipe threads, these a just example part numbers.

The mag switch will control the power to the fuel pump. I do not recall what IHC was using for a glow plug system but you would want to power it seperate from the shut down system.

The only issue with a shut down system on an on road truck is it could get you in trouble if it shut down at the wrong time. When I worked on Navistar buses they just used a beeper to alert you to issues.

You could use the same switches and sub a beeper for the mag switch. Something like this. Buzzer
