i got a tip from a ford mech, i put a short piece of rubber fuel hose over the end of the drain tube, clears everything and runs into a pan or bottle with no fuss at all

Thank You AdrianSpeeder, is the 95 psd the same?

only difference I see is my '95 has a fuel filter cap that has a 1/2 inch ratchet adapter for removal...just use a short 1/2 inch ratchet extension and spin 'er off......hth

The Wix filter I purchased for my 99 van HAD the cover with the filter. According to the dealer, the separate cover that Wix sold is no longer available. They're selling replacement filters w/ the lid now..... not sure if a seperate filter is available, as I didn't bother to look at the filter to see if the lid could be detached.

The filter I received from the parts dealer, a Wix, already had the filter cover with it. I was told that the separate cover is no longer available as with the separate filter- the separate filter crossed over to the one w/ the lid enclosed. This is Wix at least, don't know about the other manufactures. I didn't bother to look at the cover to see if the filter was removable (I'm guessing it is).

This was a filter for my 99 E350.

You probably already have an aftermarket filter. For one, Auto Zone sells a filter with the 1/2" drive socket. David
