I was wondering if it was possible to upgrade my na engine with turbo connecting rods and pistons with an engine balance. What other parts would I have to use from the turboed engine? Flywheel, Harmonic balancer, etc...

I would do idit rods over psd rods, I’ve had the idit pistons fail before the idit rods, and we don’t have a stronger piston than the idit piston, a stronger rod won’t help that. If you’re doing a rebalance anyways, you can actually just replace the rods and pistons and run the rest of your na parts. Just make sure your machinist has your entire bottom end balancer to flywheel.

Would the na flywheel and balancer work or do I need to get idit components?

You can run the na balancer and flywheel as long the machinist balances the assembly by adding weight to the crank

Also depending what you use for a turbo setup you might want to increase the oil sending port from 1/8 to 1/4 " pipe thread. which is what a IDIT would have. Or better yet just find turbo block they are a stronger block , heavier main webs , cyl are better to I believe.

This is exactly what I am working on now as well . IDIT rods and pistons for my NA block. Like Wes said getting everything balanced on the rotating assembly is important. Also found, through some of Justins posts on FTE, you can use the PS rod bearings on the IDIT rods . It gives you more surface area and does not require any modification to the rod or bearing.
