So the thread about breaking down in st Claire Missouri was posted by my brother. He doesn't have an account yet so I let him use mine. Anyways borrowed my buddies 2002 chevy 2500 duramax and got it home. It had been dripping something where it was parked and keep dripping after getting it home. So yesterday finally got around to pulling all glow plugs and what do you know the second cylinder back on the drivers side blew out coolant. Go to drain the oil and atleast a good 2 gallons of coolant come out before the oil does. He said it felt low on power since he had left tulsa Oklahoma heading towards Indiana. He had pulled off at a rest stop and said he noticed a slight ticking when he restarded it. Then once pulling back on I44 he happened to look back and see lots of white smoke. So he pulled over, shut it off and crawled under the truck to see if anything was leaking and said it sounded like something (liquid) was running into the exhaust. Then it wouldn't crank back over at all. Which of course because it was hydrolocked. So now i have to rebuild it with all new gaskets and seals, probably type4 cam, etc... etc... etc.... Going to start pulling it tomorrow. Any guesses as to if it's just the headgasket or if it may be cavitation?
