You can also use a number 1 line off a 6.9
I did that a few times no problems.
I can't answer your question for certain, but the number 1 line shouldn't affect the other 7, I know it doesn't with a 6.9 line, not sure why van lines would interfere.

Would a 6.9 line fit the number 1 injector without the adapter?? I potentially just bought one from a 6.9 as it didn't fit right with the adapter on.... hitting the IP at Bottom)

6.9 doesn't have the adapter so the line is longer to compensate.

A shot of the RH lines on my 85 E350. The furthest away is #1.

Is that with the trucks too? I know van lines in general supposedly use number 5?? As the adapter line?
I'm going to try my truck 6.9 line (people on Facebook said I bought a 6.9 line) without said adapter to see what that does....it does seem the be sitting higher up which is why it's hitting the IP pumps inlet but it's also not able to clamp into the line clamps

Yes, 6.9 trucks lack it too. My 87 F250:

The shop that did the timing on my E350 used the #1 line for timing, if I remember right. #5 is third back on the RH side so that would have been hard to reach from the hood side.

Ok so I tried it again with adapter off and it was too long. My girlfriend also noticed that the hole was bigger so I'm returning it. I tried the old line again out of frustration and it worked thankfully

Are you trying to use the 6.9 line with the tester adapter thing? If so, don't. take off the tester. The injector should accept the 6.9 line without the adapter. The injectors are all the same for 6.9 and 7.3 IDI. So, sounds like you don't have the correct line if it won't fit the injector directly.

The beveled one is the correct one for using directly to an injector.

From the web (ignore the arrows):

I have no idea on that one. The vans basically use the International set up for fuel filter/housing and hard lines. That's as far as I know. We used #4 on both vans and Internationals and didn't question it. Maybe #4 was easier to get to on Internationals and they used the same thing for vans?
