6.9 idi voltage regulator location

Which one did you go with? part stores ask me if mine is mechanical or electronic. Not sure how to tell

Yeah so the fix was a bad voltage regulator. It was drawing 3.5A from the batteries when the old one was hooked up. I tested it with a parasitic draw test. Just hooked the meter up in series and when it was plugged in I had 3.5. When I unplugged it it was at 0. Bought a new Motorcraft regulator from summit racing. It looks exactly like the original one. Super easy fix, gotta love those kind. My regulator was electrical for sure. Here is the link to the one I bought, it was 33 bucks without shipping. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/MOF-GR540B
