Does anyone know what turbo was used on the Brazillian ford motors?

I found one in the junkyard and can get it for cheap, but would like to know a little more about it.

What psi does it boost effieciently to?

Looks like all our turbo gurus aren't around. Probably be more useful if you could find who made the turbo, usually it's Garret or Air Research, you probably knew that and maybe Ford ordered them without any identifying marks.

We have some 6.6's at work. I think they are a 12-17 psi motor. Maybe less. All ours are aftercooled if I remember rightly. Too many different trucks with different motors to pay too much attention. Are they the backwards ones with the turbo on the drivers side and a p-pump on the pass. side?

The one I was looking at had the turbo on the driverside. Im not really sure if they jumped sides or not.

What exactly is aftercooling? Is that just another term for intercooling?

aftercooling is the accurate term for what a Charge air cooler is, the term "intercooler" refers to a system like the old detroits have where there is a air/water heat exchanger in the intake manifold under the blower.
