So I'll apologize in advance, I'm sure this has been discussed a bunch but I'm a visual learner only and for whatever reason I don't trust myself being correct in interpreting a diagram.
I'm going to convert my gp system to manual tomorrow before I go about putting my new glow plugs in this spring.
So, I'm going to cut the blue wire in half that goes from the mess that heads into the cab.
I'm also going to cut the white wire that goes from the relay to the controller in half. I'm then going to connect the white wire coming off the small post to the blue wire heading into the cab for the wait to start light, and on the same small post that heads into the wait to start system I'm going to install the wire into the cab into my push button onto a good ground. I'm not following the directions I've read most recently word for word but I think it gets me to the same end point.
I think. I have no idea honestly. I'm looking at this right now http://dieselhub.com/maintenance/maintpics/gp-controller/manual-glow-plug-switch.jpg
And I've also looked at at least ten different threads on here, and I stared at the thing for ten minutes today after wiring in my high idle override successfully and decided I didn't have enough beer to accomplish this today.
I feel like by what I read on that article I'm thinking about this correctly, I just need to end up cutting the white wire from the controller, adding my own good ground switch to that post on the relay from the cab, and cutting the blue wire and attaching it to that same terminal on the relay that the push button from the cab goes to where the white wire once lived.
Hell, I can put the wires wherever I want them only 5 of my glow plugs work right now anyways.
Thank goodness for the lovely block heater. I'd rather do this before I do the glow plugs just because the truck starts even with the crap plugs if it's at least 50 and not plugged in, so it's not a crisis now that winter is over.
