Considering a newer/new F150 with the 2.7 Ecoboost (2020-2023)and sure would like some feedback if anyone owns one. Any specific issues or problems?

Did anything change in the 20-23 model year 2.7’s?

If not, my dad has a 2.7 in his 16 f-150 SuperCrew. It has I think 65k or so on it. Never misses a beat. I think the only think he has had to do is replace the battery. Routing maintenance and it just plugs along.

This is the only experience I have with a 2.7… don’t know anyone that has one that new.

B-I-L has 2017, but I think it’s the 3.5. Towed a 2004 Buick Park Avenue through the CO Mtn passes with ease.

That turbo 6 impressed me so much compared to the happy gear hunting N/A LS engines that if I were considering a new pickup, the eco-boost would be high on my list.

Co-worker has brand new “Powerboost” and absolutely loves it. Low 20’s highway.

I don't believe any changes from 2020-2023 however the first and second gen 2.7's had as issue where the plastic oil pan would warp and leak. From what I've read Ford has addressed that issue.
I'm leaning hard towards the 2.7 for a few reasons. don't want anything older than a 2020 and a 2022 would be preferred.
New is nice but > > > don't want to take the deprecation hit with getting new. If that be the case I'll order new for 2024.

Is it just a commuter/run around with occasional work duty?

If so, I’d be all for it, and wish you all the best!! And I commend you not taking the depreciation hit like my wife did

Quick search, and I’m sure you know, sounds like it’s easy to hit payload capacity on the 2.7 equipped pickups without the “payload capacity package”

I can say after living around 1300’ above sea level most my life and now 7500’. My days of N/A power are numbered.
