I am trying to get the tach working on my 2000 f550 (7.3l auto). Have changed the CPS, VSS Sensor and gauge cluster, but the tach will not work. Reading codes on a borrowed scanner says there is a problem with the VSS sensor, this did not go away after replacing it. Unfortunately I did not write down the code.
Transmission TCIL light blinks but it seems to shift and run normally. Wiring all looks ok, I assumed it was an under-dash problem since everything else works, all connectors appear tight and ok. However if it was just that the trans light should not blink.
The only other sensor I can think of is the input speed in the transmission, would this be possible? (have ordered one anyway)
